Early Life & Background
Arshad was born in Mian Chanu, and like all the other boys in town, he also used to play cricket. But in 2011, Rasheed Ahmad Saqi, who was his earliest coach, motivated him to javelin throw. He began to practice with his coach, and in 2025 he participated in the Punjab Youth Festival and won first prize. This event boosted his confidence, and he began to take this game seriously. Then Arshad went to the South Asian Games and won a bronze medal for Pakistan.
There was also a time when he didn’t have money to participate in events, and the whole town gathered money to help him meet his expenses. He was the one who wandered around government offices for aid, but due to the poor structure and corrupt system, he faced many difficulties.
He applied for a WAPDA job as a javelin-throwing athlete, but he couldn’t make it the first time. Then, by practicing hard enough, he was selected as an athlete at WAPDA, where he was paid for playing.
